HOSTS Information: Help One Student to Succeed

The MSD of Wayne Township’s HOSTS program is focused on helping 2nd and 3rd-grade students in reading. Mentors come to HOSTS one hour a week and work with the same students for 30 minutes each. All the materials are prepared for the mentor, and the HOSTS teacher is always with the mentors during HOSTS to support and assist them.

Mentor qualifications:
A desire to help a child.

Time required:
One hour a week.

HOSTS Schedule
Mentors are needed on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

2nd Grade Time: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
3rd Grade Time: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

Training:
HOSTS mentors are asked to attend a training session to acquaint them with the HOSTS program and the materials that are used. The HOSTS teacher is always available during the mentoring session to assist the volunteers. Please contact Nyree Pryor here.
